HOW TO BE SAFE FROM CORONAVIRUS
As per the current situation, the COVID-19 virus can be transmitted to anyone, if necessary precautions are not being taken. To avoid contacting with the virus and getting affected by it, some preventive measures have been given by the World Health Organization.
Adopt preventive measures such as frequently cleaning your hands. By doing this you can eliminate viruses that may be on your hands and avoid infection that could occur by then touching your eyes, mouth, and nose.
There are some preventive measures that will help you in staying safe from the virus:
- Wash your hands frequently.
Make sure to wash your hands properly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. You can also check the instructional video for washing hands. You can also use an alcohol-based sanitizer. Washing your hands will help in killing the virus that may be on your hands.
- Maintain a social distance with everyone
Maintain a distance of one metre or 3 feet between yourself and others. This will help in avoiding the spread of infection. Try to avoid contact with someone who is having symptoms of the virus.
- Stay at home and avoid going outside as much as possible.
The best way to avoid this virus is to stay at home and avoid going outside. The fewer people will come in contact, the less the virus will spread. Stay at home and make sure to keep a distance of 3 steps between the family members.
- Use tissue/Handkerchief while sneezing or coughing
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue/handkerchief when coughing or sneezing and throw that used tissues in the trash. If tissue or handkerchief isn’t available, cough or sneeze into your elbow or sleeve, not your hands. In case you have these symptoms, isolate yourself.
- Consult a doctor in case you have cough, fever or breathing issues
Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention and call in advance and self-quarantine yourself to avoid the spread of the virus.
- Wear a mask everywhere
Wear a facemask if you are sick or going outside. You should wear a facemask when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare place.
- Wash all fruits and vegetables before using them
Have proper and healthy hygiene. Wash food and vegetables before using them. Eat as many healthy things as you can and stay hydrated. You can also do yoga and workout sessions at home.
- Avoid touching your face, eyes or nose
Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick. Thus, avoid touching your face, eyes and nose.
- Avoid the places of public gathering
Avoid places that have a social gathering. Follow the public health guidelines and stay at home. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, desks, computers, phones, keyboards, sinks, toilets, faucets and countertops.
- Follow local public health guidelines
Many states, countries and cities have implemented their own protective measures to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. Many public and private schools are closed, and sports programs have been cancelled. Restaurants and bars are closed. Stay at home and follow the guidelines issued by the government.
We can fight with this virus if we are taking care of and following all the necessary precautions and safety measures.
